Join a League

Registration
To be part of a Draft Zone league you must first complete a User Registration Form. Once registered as an user, you will be able to join a league and compete for real cash awards. If any of the information entered in User Registration Form becomes outdated, it is the responsibility of the user to keep their profile information updated on the "My Profile" page.

Draft Leagues
Draft Leagues are available both at scheduled start times and "Sit and Draft" formats. The following rules apply to both scheduled start and "Sit and Draft" leagues.

Whether a draft begins at a scheduled time or upon a "Sit and Draft" reaching capacity, the draft will start promptly, and the draft order will be determined upon a random drawing of cards, which is presented in the draft room. Players will draft in the order according to the card received, with the player receiving the lowest card drafting first. There will then be up to a 1 minute window before the clock will start for the first team drafting. Each team will have 45 seconds to make his or her selection, 1 minute for leagues with 2 to 6 teams. If you do not make a pick within the allotted time or you lose your internet connection, a player will automatically be selected for you based upon your personal pre-rankings or Draft Zone's player rankings. In both of these cases, positions of need will be taken into consideration. Please see Team Selection below for more information regarding the "Auto-draft" feature. Each team will draft starters and bench players according to the Roster Requirements for that league. Upon the completion of the draft, you can adjust your starting roster of players as desired, allowing for the required number of starters at each position. There will be no adding/dropping of players after the draft has completed.

Please note that friends are welcome to join the same league if spots are available but a user is not allowed to have more than one team per league. All rosters must consist of players from more than 1 sport team. Moreover, rosters cannot consist entirely of players who are playing in the same game. For example, if the Redskins are playing the Cowboys, your roster cannot consist entirely of players from the Redskins and Cowboys. Any violations of these policies will result in a user's team being voided and forfeiture of entry fees paid and any awards won. Violators will also be subject to banishment from playing at Draft Zone.

Salary Cap Leagues
Upon signing up for a salary cap league, you can select your roster of players, based on the Roster Requirements for that league. Your roster must stay below the league salary cap. You can adjust your roster of players as desired, but not exceeding the league salary cap. Please see Transaction Deadlines below for additional details. If your team exceeds the league salary cap your team will be invalid and no awards will be earned.

Cancellation
Fantasy games are offered with a limited money back guarantee.

Users may withdraw from a "Sit and Draft" league at any time prior to the league reaching capacity without penalty and will receive a full refund of their entry fee.

Users will not be allowed to withdraw from a draft scheduled to start at a certain time unless such withdrawal is made prior to 1 hour before the scheduled start. If you cancel your team 1 hour before your online draft, you will receive a complete refund. If a league fails to fill up prior to the scheduled draft date, the league will be cancelled and you will receive a complete refund. Users of teams in cancelled leagues will also receive an email regarding similar upcoming draft leagues that the user may be interested in joining.

Games that are Postponed or Cancelled
If a game is postponed but is played on the same day (for MLB, NBA & NHL or within the game period for NFL) then you will receive points for your players in those games as normal. If a game (for NFL, MLB, NBA & NHL) is postponed to a later date or called off for any reason, any players you have selected for that game will receive zero points. If game cancellations and/or postponements mean there is only one game left on a particular day, that day's Draft Zone game will be cancelled and you will receive a complete refund. NASCAR and PGA events that are postponed to no later than 1 week of the originally scheduled event day will receive points for your players in those games as normal, if not, then the Draft Zone game's based on that event will be cancelled and you will receive a complete refund.

Team Selection

Draft Leagues
The users in a draft league will sign-on to Draft Zone at either a scheduled time or a time of their convenience, when participating in a "Sit and Draft", and hold an online live draft. Each user selects one player per round. The draft order will be determined when the draft starts and will reverse each round. If a user is unable to participate in the live draft, he/she will be switched to "Auto-draft" and their team will be selected automatically. The "Auto-draft" will select the highest ranked player in the order listed below:

Round Position
1 Highest-Rated Player Available
2 Highest-Rated Player Available

Exception: Will not select the same position as the 1st round selection, unless the 1st round selection was a RB in football leagues.
Remaining
Rounds
Highest-Rated Player Available

Exception: Will select players at positions to ensure all starting roster positions are filled, before any bench players are selected. Additionally, the kicker starting position in football leagues will not be selected until all other starting and bench positions are filled.

Live Draft Details
Be sure to enter your league draft room at least 15 minutes prior to the draft. Go to your league home page and select "Enter Draft Room". If you cannot be present, be sure to pre-rank your players within the "My Profile" page. Your personalized ranking of players will be carried into each draft you enter. If you do not show up for the draft, after your time expires on the first pick, you will be automatically switched to "Auto-draft". Your pre-rank list will be used to draft your team. If you do not pre-rank your players, the Draft Zone default player rankings will be used.

In the draft room, you will be able to use the draft queue. You can select players to place in your draft queue, so when it is your turn to draft, you can have the player or players you want, ready to go. "Auto-draft" will draft the players in the order you have them in the draft queue, if there are no players in your draft queue, the "Auto-draft" will use your pre-ranked player list.

Salary Cap Leagues
The users in a salary cap league will sign-on to Draft Zone at a time of their convenience, but prior to the Transaction Deadlines, and select a team that does not exceed the defined salary cap and meets the specifications set forth in League/Team Configuration.

MLB Double Headers
Players will only score points for the game listed as their opponent on the draft room, live scoring and roster screens. If a player plays in two games on the same day then they will only be scored for one of those games. Generally, in the event of a double header the first game played will be used.

PGA Tournament Participants
Golfers participating in a PGA tournament are updated on a daily basis as the information is made available from our statistics provider. There is no guarantee that a golfer shown as available one day, will actually play in the tournament, so be sure to re-check your roster prior to the PGA tournament's start time to ensure you have a relevant roster for te tournament.

Draft Leagues

2 to 6 Person Draft League
If your draft league begins within 1/2 hour of a players scheduled game start time or the player is already playing or has already completed their game, that player will not be available for selection in 2-6 person draft leagues.

7 to 12 Person Draft League
If your draft league begins within 1 hour of a players scheduled game start time or the player is already playing or has already completed their game, that player will not be available for selection in 7-12 person draft leagues.

Roster Movement in Draft Leagues
After a draft is completed, users will be able to move any player back and forth from starting positions to bench positions up until the start of the players game (note: this may be Thursday/Saturday during certain weeks of the NFL season). After the games have begun, users will only be able to move players whose games have not yet begun. All players will lock into their current position prior to their respective game scheduled starting time. To avoid timing issues, be sure to make lineup changes well in advance of the games start time.

Salary Cap Leagues
Users of teams in a salary cap league may adjust their rosters within the parameters of the salary cap and according to the provisions set forth in League Configuration provided that all adjustments are made prior to the scheduled start of the first Sunday game for NFL, the scheduled start of the first game of the day for MLB, NBA and NHL, and the scheduled start of the NASCAR race or PGA Tournament. Please note that users may choose NFL players participating in Thursday/Saturday games, when applicable, if they complete their roster selection prior to the start of the players game played that Thursday/Saturday. Users with NFL players involved in Thursday games will not be able to drop these players after the start of the players Thursday/Saturday game. In NFL leagues, users not wishing to select players involved in Thursday/Saturday games may make their roster selections up until the start of the 1st Sunday game; however, they will not be able to select players who have already completed their games the previous Thursday/Saturday.

Game Cutoffs
Public or private draft leagues ("SIT AND DRAFT" and "SCHEDULED") that begin drafting after the cutoff for the current games, and public or private "SALARY CAP" leagues that fill up after the cutoff for the current games, will be automatically moved to the following day or week, if possible. If not possible, due to the end of a sport season, the league will be cancelled and your payments will be refunded.

NFL 1/2-1 Hour prior to the first scheduled NFL game on Sunday
MLB 1/2-1 Hour prior to the first scheduled MLB game of the day
NBA 1/2-1 Hour prior to the first scheduled NBA game of the day
NHL 1/2-1 Hour prior to the first scheduled NHL game of the day

PGA 1/2 Hour prior to the Golf event scheduled start time for the current week, typically on Thursday

Standard Decimal Scoring System

All leagues use the same standard scoring system for the respective sport, outlined below. A team will receive points based on stats from the games played. If two teams have the same number of points, then Tiebreakers will determine the winner.

Scoring is calculated based on a decimal scoring system, up to the hundredth percentile. Anything beyond the hundredth percentile is rounded down. Example: a QB passes for 237 yards, a QB receives 1 point per 25 yards, and so the resulting points scored will be 9.48.

Only players in your starting lineup will count toward your point total. You do not receive any points from players on your bench.

NHL Shootouts
There are no fantasy stats recorded during shootouts that follow a scoreless NHL overtime period. Fantasy scoring matches official NHL scoring for shootouts. Please consider the following for skaters and goalies:
Skaters: Since players who score during a shootout are not credited with goals by the NHL, players in the fantasy game are not credited with goals (or shots on goal) when scoring in a shootout.

Goalies: The NHL created an "OT" or "OTL" category for goalies. When a goalie loses in OT or in a shootout, they will be credited with an OTL. This will not count as a loss officially or for fantasy purposes.
* In the event a scoreless game goes into a shootout both goalies will be credited with Shutouts.
* Since the NHL credits the winning goalie with a win, goalies on the winning team during a shootout are credited with wins.

NASCAR Scoring System

Points are awarded to your team based on the NASCAR Sprint Cup Points that are awarded to each of your drivers based on their race finish and laps led. If your driver is penalized by NASCAR, your team will not lose the corresponding Sprint Cup Points.

  3. The 64 team Challenge will include 4 separate bracket regions, each of which will be composed of 16 entries.
